Choosing Today

This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it!

Creation Calls

on April 29, 2012

Have you ever sat and watched a stunning sunset and thought to yourself,

how can someone not believe there is a God after seeing a masterpiece like that?”

Columbia River Gorge, Oregon

Have you ever seen a prenatal ultrasound and wondered the same question?

My son at 9 weeks.

Have you ever visited a zoo and wondered about the uniqueness of each animal created?

How can someone not believe there is a God after seeing a masterpiece like that?

I ask myself this question all the time.

Evidence of God is all around us…

The heavens declare the glory of God;

the skies proclaim the work of His hands.” – Psalm 19:1

I love how Romans 1:20 says it:

For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—

His eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen,

being understood from what has been made,

so that people are without excuse.

When we all stand before God’s throne someday, we will have no excuse for not believing in Him.

He has revealed Himself to us over and over again through His creation.

I like what the footnotes for Romans 1:20 say in the Life Application Bible:

What kind of God does nature reveal?

Nature shows us a God of might,

intelligence, and intricate detail;

a God of order and beauty;

a God who controls powerful forces.”

Check out this gorgeous video called “Creation Calls.”

The images of God’s vast creation are breathtaking.

The song is sung by Brian Doerksen and my favorite line is this:

How could I say there is no God? When all around creation calls!”

What a beautiful created world we live in.

What an amazing Creator God we serve.

Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve…

as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.”
